CONFERENCE DATES: Wednesday,20th May to Thursday, 21st May 2020
Kenya Climate Change Working Group (KCCWG) and the University of Embu are organizing a Sustainable Climate Action in Africa Symposium (SCAAS) in May 2020. The theme of the Symposium is 'Strengthening Response to Climate Change: Innovative Community Solutions for Food Security. The two institutions have formed a joint consortium to organize a series of annual thematic Sustainable Climate Action in Africa Symposia (SCAAS) across Kenya.
It hopes to build a large network of partnerships to make the Symposia sustainable and impactful. The consortium advocates for the empowerment of climate action through delocalization of climate change dialogue; and exploration of the nexus between policy direction, existing research findings, and grass-root practices. This is meant to ensure that climate action is implemented at all levels of society and is enduring as knowledge gaps in climate change and action are addressed. The Symposium is a 2-day event to be hosted at the University of Embu.
